Seattle Birthday Celebration

Katie and I wanted to do some birthday celebrating together. We picked a weekend and headed over to see Katie and the Seattle Mariners. This trip I tried to take picture of different things. Keri mentioned I take pictures of me in front of the Mariner's murals every time I go see a game. Decided to get a bit more creative this time. I hope! These are relatively new additions to the landscape near Vantage. Good idea! Wind power! They are huge!

OK, maybe this is a repeat picture but Mt. Rainer is so beautiful!
It was a beautiful drive over the mountains!
We headed to the Pyramid for some food before the game. Katie joined us there. We took normal pictures but these are more fun! I think I look a little scary.
Mike got the beer sampler! I think he is a bit overwhelmed with the big decision of which to try first. He did manage to decide!
Right across the street...Safeco Field. I so so so love going to baseball games. Love being outside watching the game! Mariners aren't very good at all this year but I still love being there. There is always hope! Maybe they would win this game.
Our seats were in right field and Ichiro was the closest player to us!
The famous Ichiro stretch!

The view from our seats. We were in the shade to start with and it was cold! Katie and her friend Katie S. play a game...guess the time the sun will hit you. Mike and Katie decided to play and they were both pretty far off. I jumped into the festivities after the game started. Apparently there is some rule against this. Whatever! There was a round two and we all participated. Katie won.
Here is the sun arriving at our seats. Game over as soon as you can stretch your hand out and the sun lands on it. Did I get the rules right Katie?
OK, the game got a little boring because the Mariners weren't doing a good job of actually playing the game. The grounds crew perked things up with a dance to MC Hammer.
Here is some video of the dance. Very fun!
Mike had been pushed to his limits watching the game. Look closely... he is asleep. I can't blame him really! He eventually went back to the hotel while Katie and I found things to entertain ourselves with at the game.

Game over! Time for some walking around Seattle. BRRRR! Found a cold spot. Keri, it isn't the players!
Oh NO! A train. Run quick!
Sites of Seattle!

Isn't she the most beautiful site ever! Love you Katie!
We woke Mike up and headed out for some dinner. There was some serious discussion about where to eat dinner.
Should we eat at this Ivars or one on Lake Union? Lake Union was the choice.
First we stopped at Katie's apartment. This is the view from the rooftop patio.

Finally to Ivars! Nice view, very peaceful!
Outdoor seating was full. First day with no rain in a while. We know the feeling Seattle!
Pretty cool boat! We had great food and it was nice to just sit and visit with Katie!
Not exactly sure what this was. A pig truck??? Looked like a pig in the front. Didn't get the camera out fast enough!
Katie invited us to her church on Sunday morning. It was such a neat service with a great message. So down to Earth and practical. The best part was seeing Mike give Katie a big hug when the service ended. Love them both a ton! Thanks for a wonderful time Katie! So glad we came over to Seattle!
