Christmas Day

Well, this was a different Christmas! Some of our plans were foiled by Old Man Winter. We were supposed to go to church on Christmas Eve with Kristin and family. As it turned out they didn't go because of the massive quantities of snow and Mike and I (mostly Mike) ended up having to dig out again! The alley behind our house is what we use to get in and out. It is a mess! Christmas Day Mike's mom was going to go out to Kathleen's housefor dinner! Kathleen is Mike's sister. Mike went and picked Leola up and she spent some time at our house. Kathleen called later in the day and said she was pretty sick. She was trying to cook but it wasn't happening. We whipped together a dinner of ham, potatoes, Christmas jello, and string beans. We didn't really whip it together. We had planned on a having a nice Christmas dinner! Dinner turned out yummy and Leola enjoyed it. We were hoping Kristin, Justin, and Layne would stop by before they went to Steve's but everything and everyone was moving pretty slowly because of the snow. We didn't get to see them. Katie came over to open her presents and that was a blast. She makes us laugh and she loves every minute of the present opening. We have a tradition of putting baby Jesus in the manger on Christmas morning. Katie had done that the last few years and she passed the baton to Mike. I don't think baby Jesus ever made it into the manger at the Gleason household but we didn't forget what Christmas really represents.

This Gonzaga jersey was the highlight for Katie! My personal favorite was the Seahawk Mr. Potato Head. Gotta love that!

We got on the web cam and talked with the Doolittle family, and Kyle and his family. Almost as good as having them with us but not quite!!!! It is pretty neat to be able to talk with them and see them though! It was a good day foiled plans and everything. Merry Christmas!
