Monday in Arizona

We hung around the house Monday AM and then the Doos were nice enough to let Mike and I borrow a car! We headed out to see the desert. Mike really hadn't been to a desert area. Sedona is high desert and that was our destination. We climbed to about 4700 feet. It was a beautiful day. We stopped along the way at Montezuma's Castle. Montezuma was never there but someone gave the place that name and it stuck! The Sinagua people built this castle in the cliffs! They farmed the area during the 12th to 14th centuries. It is an amazing site to see. There is a small river and many white sycamore trees at the base of the cliffs! After we left Montezuma's Castle we traveled to the Red Rock National Park. Sedona is in the Red Rock National Park. Beautiful, majestic rock formations! The camera doesn't do the beautiful red color of the rocks justice!

We got Sedona and visited the most expensive shopping area in the world. I am sure of it! Seriously! A lot of beautiful art in one form or another and the cost of the are was unreal! Talquepaque Village! It was a very quaint looking area with several unique shops complete with a metal shaman!

Just after Sedona in Oak Creek we visited a very unique church. It was built in the 1950's. It cost $300,00 dollars to build then and now it would cost...? It is a very small church but very unique. As you can see it sits high on a hill with a great view! The front of the church is all windows! I didn't take pictures inside!
The day ended in the Happy Valley near Keri and Marks! We went to The Sauce for dinner. A very nice and yummy pizza place!

Photo Shoot at the Botanical Gardens

Keri had a job at the Botanical Gardens in Phoenix. She was taking engagement pictures of a nice couple from Tucson! You have to buy tickets in advance to get into these gardens and I didn't have a ticket. I took a chance and went a long and hoped to get a ticket. I was in luck! The reason it was difficult to get tickets is because an artist has his artwork all through the gardens! The artist's name, Dale Chihuly! His glass art work was blended in the gardens. Look and see! Incredible for sure!
Of course there was a lot of nature to look at and even a replica of an Apache Hut.

Check this out! Creeping Devil Cactus. It looks like a lot of creepy crawly snakes. It really was weird looking. I felt like any second they might start moving toward me.

This afternoon and evening was just what the doctor ordered. All my Washington friends know exactly what I mean. It was a warm summer day and the evening was even better. It was like heaven being outside and just feeling warmth! It was so relaxing and peaceful. So glad Keri invited me along. Not sure what is on the agenda for tomorrow!

The Zoo

Ryland wanted Papa Mike to go to the zoo with him! The first thing Sunday morning Mark, Mike and Ryland headed out to see the meerkats and ride the merry-go-round. Keri, Easton and I took naps and went shopping! Pictures of the zoo by Mike!

We Have Arrived

We have finally made it to the warm weather. First thing on the list! Grandsons! They are precious and adorable. Keri has her hands full doesn't she! Full of love and sweetness!

Well, we are getting away from it all on Sat. Arizona here we come!!!! Keri, Mark, Ryland and Easton and the sun! I am so excited to see all of them and to feel the sun. Pictures will come! It's Still Winter in Washington!

Winter has not gone away in Washington! Lots of snow on the way to 49 Degrees North! It was cold today. Foggy, windy, snowing and cold. Of course it was a great time! I love to be out skiing. These are all cell phone pictures so they are sort of fuzzy! There is a big tall mountain here but you can't see it because of the cloud sitting on it! Looks fun doesn't it!!! I found these two guys to hang out with! They were pretty fun even if they did get this pizza from the table behind us after the people at the table left. "FREE PIZZA" were their words! Oh brother! BOYS!
This picture is very fuzzy but these two were great! Lots of older songs that I knew!
This is on the drive home! As we got closer to Spokane the sun was out!!! Darn I wish it were sunny on the mountain! I haven't had a nice "NO HAT DAY" yet!

There aren't very many ski weekends left! We leave on March 28th for Arizona so there are only two more weekends! Better get up there!!!!!!!
