GNO at PF Changs

Love spending time with friends and I don't do it often enough! Good food, lots of talking, lots of laughing! I had never been to PF Changs! Great food. These are some sort of green beans, spicy ones I think.
Yummy lettuce wraps!
Spicy shrimp if I remember right. I didn't try everything. Too many good foods with lots of calories.
Sharon, Susan, Pam!
My good friend Cheryl with you know who!
Deanna and Kari
The gang! There is something very special about friendships with other women. We can just be ourselves in all our silliness, seriousness, or whatever!
Our waitress fit right in with our group. Very nice and very outgoing. She put up with us for over two hours.
Tami came a little later!
Deanna was telling a story about something she was all fired up about. Can you tell? Can't tell what it was. It is against the code to tell.
One of my favorites. Fortune cookies. Love the taste. We had a good time sharing our fortunes and wondering how they could possibly come true!
High finance Wendy took care of the finances of the evening. No she didn't pay for it all she collected our money.
One fortune cookie met some misfortune.
Wendy and Sheila using chopsticks. I don't think that is how you are supposed to use them. Maybe they will start a new trend in fashion.

Thanks girls for a great night and some of you should thank me for not posting some of the pictures I took. You know who you are!!!

Family Ski Day

Just as we were all geared up ready to ski Layne, Lucy, Kristin, and Justin arrived. Boy lots of gear for two little ones. Layne is doing her part carrying her backpack! How long do you think it will be before Lucy wants some of the skiing action?
Layne is ready to get going!
I took three pictures of Mike putting his helmet on and he had his eyes closed on each one. Maybe he was visualizing the runs like the Olympic skiers do?
Another beautiful day in the Pacific Northwest!
More corduroy!

Yehaw!
Mike learning to take a picture with an IPHONE.

I got some actions shots of Justin and Layne. She rides the chair to the top of the mountain and skis all the way down. She is a future Olympian! She looks so small compared to her surroundings.
Getting some instructions from DAD!

There they go! I actually got some video of Layne skiing! Wasn't paying attention to myself and deleted it. DUH! Next time!

Back at the lodge!
Grandpa and Lucy!
Kristin and Lucy! Two cuties!
Layne isn't read to quit!
Last run of the day! Riding to the top and playing with taking pictures into the sun! The snow is getting pretty hard and fast. Fun, but a few more inches would be nice to have for the next few weeks. It was another fun day on the slopes!!! Time goes fast. It was just a second ago I was tromping 3 girls up to the ski hill. Now I have the easy job, grandma!!!

There isn't any snow!

People in Spokane think there is no snow for skiing. Lets just keep it that way. Can't blame them. On the way up to the hill this morning it looked like spring with zero snow. Off in the distance there was a hint of the white stuff!
Getting closer! I am getting excited. What a beautiful "no hat" day. A "no hat" day is a sunny warm day when you don't even have to wear a hat.
Here I am! Chewelah Peak with a lot of snow and sunshine. Perfect combination. I couldn't be happier!
Nice corduroy snow at the base of the mountain. Love the way it sounds under my skis!
No lift lines. Love skiing in Washington!
No crowds on the hill!
Or in the lodge. I was early and a few more people showed up but never a lift line or a crowd anywhere!

Serious snow on the top of Chewelah Peak!

No one in front of me!

Only a few people behind me. This is God's creation at it finest in my mind. Peaceful, quiet, beautiful and grand!
This is one of many cow bells hidden here and there at 49. Love to zoom by and try to hit it with my pole without hitting the tree!
My day was cut a little short. About 1:30 I skied down from the top. When I got to the bottom I wondered why there was a line at the lift???? HMMM. I saw the lift wasn't moving. The people below are just patiently waiting for the lift to go. Waited a few minutes...still not moving and then I noticed none of the lifts were moving. Decided the lodge would be good. After a few more minutes I heard that there was a problem down the mountain. I decided to pack up and head home.
It was a fabulous ski day. Nice to take a break from the snowboard! I am not giving it up. Not even close!
