A Quick Visit from my Brother

Steve flew in from Denver last night. We picked him up at the airport at 11:00 PM. Wow, I haven't seen him in at least 15 years and he doesn't look any older. We tried to figure out the last time we saw each other but couldn't pin it down. We just can't let that much time pass again. Today we headed up to Kristin's for a bit! Steve got to meet Layne and Lucy!
Lucy was really, really studying her Great Grandma Lucy! Totally focused on her!
While Layne was showing Steve how you can use baby toys as a knee brace we were having a big discussion about snowboarding and skiing. Steve taught snowboarding for years and Kristin is an avid skier. So the friendly debate began! I just wanted to know what would be easier on my knee!
Two Lucys and a Kristin!
Won't be long and these two will be rippin' it up as Layne says!
Quick visit to Kristin's because my mom and brother are heading back to Vegas. From there my mom will drive to Havasu and Steve will fly back to Denver. ZOOOOM!!!

A Blast From the Past!!!

Time! How do you measure it? When you think about 5 years ago, 10 years ago, even 20 years ago it seems like no time has passed at all! That was just yesterday right? Today we visited Great Grandma Lucy's 5th wheel like we used to do in the past. How was it different? It wasn't my three girls that were swimming, playing games with Grandma, having lunch, and just having a fun time! This time it was Kristin's little ones! The great-grandkids! How can that be? It brought back a lot of memories! Grandma Lucy and Grandpa Ralph would play games and cards with my girls over and over again. They would walk to the store to get a popsicle! They had so much patience and would spend so much time with my girls. I get it now!

This was our day today. First Layne played on the playground outside the pool. The swings set was a pirate ship for a while today. I had to buckle up, hold rocks, and take a ride! Not sure what the rocks were for. I guess in case we ran into any unfriendly pirates!

Then the pool! So refreshing!

Even Lucy got into a little pool action!

The all important learning to blow bubbles in the water!
All that swimming wore Lucy out!
How did Layne get so grown up so fast!

Lunch in the 5th wheel just like Keri, Kristin, and Katie used to do!

Even an almost 4 year old likes to snuggle up for a song from their mom!

While Layne was snuggling in with Kristin I took a picture or 200 of Lucy! She is changing so so fast!

These moment are so darn precious! Time goes way too fast!!! Sometimes I can't believe my little ones are having little ones of their own! I know I have said it before but I am blessed!

A Perfect Day!

About 9:30 Tuesday morning the Doolittle boys and their mom (Keri) arrived at the front door. I was going to be in charge of Easton for the day while Keri and Ryland went to Silverwood. Lucky me for sure. Lots of snuggling and kisses. Ryland and Easton are the two sweetest little boys on Earth! Ryland told me about the the things he was going to do at Silverwood and one thing he wasn't going to do! Ride on the waterfall. He said it was way to scary for him. He was talking about the log ride. When he said it was too scary he got a quiet little voice and a sad face! So cute! Of course when he got back he told me all about the log ride and how fun it was!
While they were riding rides at Silverwood I was taking pictures of Easton. I think I took about 100 and he smiled for all of them! I am not posting them all. :-) I am such a grandma! Isn't he precious!
When Ryland and Keri got back Ryland found another ride to jump on!
Later in the day my mom, Kristin and the girls, the Doolittles, and of course Mike were all over for dinner!
Here is Layne and Ryland. They are cousins!
Keri and Easton!
Yum! Enchiladas! My family loves Mexican food!

After dinner it was outside time for all. Kristin is holding her youngest, Lucy, and Easton! They are cousins!

Kristin brought some Frisbees that were a big hit!

Could not resist taking pictures of the two babies!

Keri was tossing balls to the kids! Doesn't it just look fun!!! It was so fun watching the grand kids run around the back yard. I am so proud of my daughters. They are great moms!

Easton found the comfy hammock!
Nothing better on a hot summer night!

Lucy is the girl of many faces!
What better way to cool off than with a small white bowl of ice cream! Gma Lucy's favorite!
The day is winding down. I was tired but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way! It felt great!
Pretty sure these two had a million chips! Love it at grandma's and grandpa's house!
A bottle and jammies! Then a nice ride home and in bed for the Lathrop girls!

Another fabulous day! I really am so blessed to have such a wonderful family. I value every minute we can spend together. I never knew how cool it would be to be a grandma! Better than I could have ever imagined. God has a plan and it is good and right! Thank you God!
