The Doolittle Scramble July 12, 2009

Place: Hangman Valley Golf Course...Date: July 12, 2009...Time 10:39 AM...Who...Shelly, Jackie, Maryanne, Cindy! Pro golfers? Nope! Professional gigglers? Ahhhh yes! We had so much fun golfing in the Doolittle Scramble today! What a team! We all had our high points and low points and a whole bunch of points in the middle! Someone always seemed to come through when we needed them! Here we are ready to get started playing in the 5th annual Doolittle Scramble. My daughter Keri and her hubby Mark have organized this scramble each year. This year was the biggest ever. 13 teams took a little stroll on the golf course. Keri and Mark and their team have taken home the trophy each year. Will they do the same this year? Read on!

As you can see we take this game very seriously!
I am thinking the picture taking was a priority over golf. :-)
OK, now we are getting down to business!
Oh no! Maryanne had to get in the bushes to recover this ball! She was so good at spotting balls that went where they weren't supposed to! Not that we had many of those of course!
Photo opportunity by the creek. The team behind us was waiting but I don't think they could see what we were doing! That was good. I don't think golf etiquette sets time aside for pictures. But we look good don't you think!!!

Cindy hadn't golfed in 5 years. She got better and better as the day went on while the rest of us were tiring out!

Beautiful! Gotta love Spokane in the summer! Thank you God for the great scenery!
OK, here is one of those situations where Maryanne spotted a ball that decided to go where it wasn't supposed to! Mine! I recovered it thanks to Maryanne!
We were the second team to golf so we got in the club house before almost everyone else. We got the cake out so that when teams finished they could have a little snack. We were all hot, thirsty, and hungry so we took care of those things then had a snitch of cake!
Maryanne had to go home but here is our after picture!
This is one of my son in laws! We never got an explanation for the pants!
Katie and Megan are adorable as always in their matching Cougar shirts!!!
Kristin was happy! HMMMM! Is she up to something?
Mark's parents, Steve and Jennifer Doolittle!
Megan, Katie, Dawn! Beauties!
Carl, Dave, Chris. Not beauties but very handsome!
Keri is starting to tally up the cards! Who won????
The crowd is waiting!
Mark and Keri have lost their title. I guess it was bound to happen but I hated to see it happen! Team Fuller won! Congrats to Team Fuller!
Prizes and trophies for the first place team!
Kristin and Justin's team came in 2nd and Keri and Mark third! But they weren't the only ones that got prizes! So did our team! We got last place so we got 4 DVDs! Here I am accepting our awards on behalf of the team! Notice the title on the DVDs! Does this mean we are now professional golfers? We got a prize???? Is that the same as getting paid?
One last prize to give away. If you wanted to buy a raffle ticket or 5 or 10 you could. 1$ each. If you landed on the green on the 9th hole your tickets were doubled! We all had awesome drives over the water on the 9th hole but we were shy of the green. All the money goes into a pot and a ticket is drawn after the golfing is finished. If yours is drawn you get the $$ collected. Right around $250.00! Well, Carl had the lucky number. Carl and Katie had some sort of deal going that if either of them won they would split the pot! So you will see Katie with a big smile on her face too.
I so rarely get the girls all together I have to take a picture. So cute! Keri, Kristin, and Katie!
Oh and there were some other prizes given away. Hats, a golf bag, some sort of golf GPS thing...
and a lot more!
And then there is Ryland. Gramma Jackie can I have some cake? I cut him a piece and he so politely said thank you. He is so good at that for a two year old. We got busy talking and straightening up! I looked back and saw Ryland really enjoying the cake! Look closely you can see the holes he poked in it with his fingers. I think he finally decided the cake cutter was more effective and he could get a bigger piece! Too cute!
This was such a fun day. Thanks to Keri and Mark for providing us the opportunity by organizing the Scramble! Cindy, Maryanne, Shelly! You guys were so much fun to golf with! Thanks for saying yes and joining me! Until next year!
