"Awesome Ain't Easy" Cruisin' for a Cause

I am quoting Steve in the title of this blog post.  Awesome isn't easy is it?  Takes some effort.  Lots of people put tons of effort into today's ride for Team Gleason and it was awesome!  My favorite awesome moment of the day was the smile on Steve's face when he was all situated in the side car and he was ready to take off.

The silent auction items were out before the ride for all to see so everyone could decide on their bid.
There were about 125 registered riders.  That counts everyone that was sitting on a motorcycle driving or not.

This is the side car that Steve rode in.  Thanks for the ride!

The Gleasons before we took off!

Shelley and Jackie.  We have been trying to ride together forever and we are finally doing it.  She rides her own bike too.  Next up Shelley is the girl's only ride!  Let's do it soon!!
 More auction items!
Shelley's hubby Jim is a bit hard of hearing.  I said smile and he kissed!  Although it did make all of us smile!  Nice job Jim.
 Tony P. figuring things out!
Tony, his wife Lindy and Mike! Thanks for coming!
 More Gleasons!
Blair and Michel.  Two wonderful, positive, giving, loving people! The best ever.  Angels if you ask me.
 Da boys!
 Da boys and Michel.
Wanna go for a ride Rivers???  Not yet!  He liked my shiny red motorcycle I could tell!
I learned something about Mike today.  He is a baby stealer.  Can I hold him for a minute?  Sure...then Mike wouldn't give Rivers back to me.  Baby stealer!  Happy smiles!

Steve and the organizers said a few words about the day!

Listening to the words of thanks and ride instructions.
Time for Steve to get in the sidecar!

Such a sweet picture.  I think Rivers is a natural.  He needs a little leather jacket that says NO WHITE FLAGS!

There is that great smile!
Mike prayed for no rain because the forecast was not good.  A lot of rain was forecast.  Well, I would say a prayer was answered.  We got in about a 10 minute downpour on our way to Newport and the rest of the way no rain! Mike and Mariane look pretty dry at the Newport stop. Love these two people.
Picture time with Skeve!  You can see the raindrops falling on the helmet and windshield!

My lens is now moist.  Jim and Shelley look foggy.
I didn't notice the coffee shop in the background while I was in Newport but boy it would have been yummy!  I stayed dry because my jacket was waterproof.  Ugly but waterproof.
Riders getting their poker card stamped.

More motorcycle time for Rivers.  Black leather jacket!  Right?

We took an alternate route because of lightening and ended up in Deer Park.  Shelley, Jim, and I were following a group of riders out of Newport and about 10 miles past Newport they decided to do u-turns on a 60 mile per hour highway.  WHAT?  We had no idea what they were doing.  We did not follow them (smart move on our part) and I took the lead and we headed for Deer Park.  Jim and Shelley praised my leading skills.  Jim said there were 7 riders following but I thought there were more like 30. :-)  We made it to Shagnasty's and Steve needed a stretch break. There was conversation about the riders we were following.  Perhaps they weren't even with our group?  Maybe we were following some random group?  Were they with our group but going to a friends house?  Probably a good thing that we didn't follow them.  Who knows where we would have ended up.  Mike was off with the boys riding a little different route going too fast.  I would like to keep you around Mike! Slow Down!
My good friend Mariane!  So glad she came!
Here is Steve pulling up to the BBQ at the end of the ride.  When I got off my bike someone asked me with surprise in her voice, "Did you ride that all by yourself?"  I looked around demonstrating I was the only one around and said YES.  I giggled to myself.
Michel's parents came to WA to see what this was all about.  So good to see them!
 My hubby and I!
 The Gleasons!
This is the sidecar again just in case you missed it the first time.  Pretty slick.  Steve said it was very comfortable!  So comfortable that he wants to get one and ride cross country in it.  Michel you better learn how to ride a motorcycle.  You can get a side car on the other side for Rivers.  Blair can drive the van.
The baby stealer.  He looks really nice doesn't he but he is a baby stealer.  :-)

The bikes are parked and we are ready to eat!  Yummy BBQ!
Mike said a few words about the ride.  He did a great job.
 The grandpas and Rivers.
I told this unnamed person I was going to call him a technology dinosaur so here it is!
It was a long day and the dinosaur found a great place for a nap.  So much fun is tiring!
I want to thank everyone who rode today.  Thanks for being there and supporting the Gleasons!  We appreciate it so much.  Thanks also to everyone at Windermere Real Estate for organizing this.  You know awesome ain't easy and today everything was awesome! Love, hugs and kisses!
