This is a picture of Lake Heyburn. Right after I snapped these two pictures a huge bird took off out of one of the trees. Mike look at that huge bird!!!!!! At almost the exact same time we both said, "It is a bald eagle!" Awesome site!
Here is easy rider Mike! We were exploring on these narrow twisty roads on the backside of the lake!
And Jackie! Warm enough to break out the pink, mesh jacket!
Just like this picture! Our bikes looking lonely!
The road behind us! Look at all the beautiful trees. You know what you can't experience in a picture is the smell of the air in the spring. You can smell the trees and the sweet smell of flowers blooming!
I am still in the same spot just looking a different directions. Snow still decorates the mountains. What a picture!!!! I feel blessed to live in such beautiful country!
Now we are in St. Maries. The high school mascot greets you as you come into town. I had to turn and around and go back and get this picture. I just couldn't believe there was a giant lumberjack in front of the school. How could I have missed it the last time we rode through here.
We weren't the only ones in St. Maries riding motorcycles. Popular idea!
Harrison, Idaho! One of the first things we came to was an ice cream store. We decided it must be pretty good ice cream because there was a line out the door. This nice family was in line in front of us. This gentleman was asking Mike all about his bike. What had he done to it etc. Mike has a new saying now after talking to him. Motorcycles should be long, low, and loud! Why????? He never did ask about my shiny red motorcycle. I don't get it! Long, low and loud!!! Guy thing!
Almost to the front of the line. No ice cream for me though. A couple of bites of Mike's. He is a good sharer!
The line out the door!
This is the front of the ice cream shop. The CDA lake is right behind the store. The line got a lot longer than you see here! We got there just in time to miss the really long line!
Right around the corner was One Shot Charlies! An open air restaurant and bar. We had some dinner here! Good food!
After we left Charlie and gang behind we rode 28 miles to the 1-90 freeway! All twists and turns. It was such a fun road to ride. We went by the spot my mom and step-dad camped every summer back in the day. Keri, Kristin, Katie, and I would visit them and the girls would swim in the lake! Good times. The old red barn that was nearby is faded red now! It is still standing! The area brings back special memories!
We got to the freeway and blasted home. I think it was about 40-45 miles back to Spokane. We rode about 180 miles today and never made it to our destination. That is my kind of ride!
