Can You Believe This!!! Would you do it?

Mike and I decided not to ski today. Mike had to work in the AM and I didn't want to go up there by myself. I had lots of stuff to get caught up on at home so I was OK with staying home. THEN THE POLAR BEAR PLUNGE came to mind!!! I thought about the students from Hallett Elementary that were taking the plunge today into Medical Lake! They had raised money for The Special Olympics and they were jumping! I had to go see them all! Mike wanted to come too. All those things at home that needed to get done would have to wait! A section of the ice on the lake was removed yesterday for the plungers!! Looks cold doesn't it!There were heaters around the picnic area in the park. The temperature in Medical Lake was around freezing but down by the lake there was a nice little breeze. Not sure what the wind chill was but it was COLD!As usual Mike did things his way! He has wanted to ride his motorcycle so bad that this seemed like a perfect time to do it. He said he didn't get cold. I can't imagine! I took the car and had the heater up full blast! This guy was so cold he turned blue and this was before the plunge!I was cold. There is a cold theme in this post isn't there. We got to the park at 11:30 thinking the kids were jumping in at 12:00. Wrong! It was at 1:00! Before the deed was done there was a contest for best costume! Check these people out.

After the costumes were judged we all started heading to the lake. The high school band was there and a lot of spectators!
These tents were for the people that were plunging! They got in and got ready to jump and after they did that crazy plunge they went back in the tent. There were several groups of people that took the leap. They didn't all do it at once. They did it a group at a time! This guy looks a little too comfy in that water. He was wearing a huge red suit of some sort. Obviously, it kept him warm. He was waiting for the plungers to start. There were two red suited people there to give instructions and to help just in case! Here goes the first group! If you look closely you will see that some don't even have any type of shoe on! How do they do that?
Getting instructions!1,2,3 JUMP!
Another group!
I didn't put pictures of the students from Hallett. Permission thing but they will be on my classroom blog soon. They got two awards for the money they raised for Special Olympics! They are pretty special kids and I am so proud of them for doing this crazy thing!

There is a Reason We Call Him Crazy Mike

Well, I just had to get these pictures in the blog. As we drove home from skiing today the weather got nicer as we got closer to Spokane. When I say nice I mean it wasn't snowing and you could see a tiny bit of sun! Both Mike and I have had the bug to ride our motorcycles. Our alley is still ice! Hard to get them out not to mention the wind chill on a motorcycle! Well, Mike couldn't take it anymore. As soon as we got home from skiing he bundled up and hopped on his bike and took a spin! BRRRRRR!
I was in a hot shower while Mike was taking this ride! He looks cold doesn't he?????

49 Degrees North Skiing 7 Months Pregnant

Kristin is 7 months pregnant and still skiing. Can you believe it!!! She is taking it easy and skiing with Layne but really!! I just want to go on record Kristin that I never skied this long into an pregnancy! I am not sure she really wanted me to take this picture and post it but she looks beautiful and I am proud of her spunk! For all of you that have experienced being pregnant would you have been able to bend over and help a 3 year old at 7 months pregnant????? Layne is on her own skiing now. No ties to mom or dad with a cord or rope or pole. Wow! She is doing great!

I think Grandpa Mike thinks he is in a rock band with that tongue sticking out. Maybe he is trying to catch snow flakes. That makes a lot more sense!
Kristin and Layne ripping it up (Layne's words)!
Sometimes when you ski with a 3 year old you go places you have never been and see things you have never seen on the mountain! There were a lot of smiling faces on this Valentine's Day ski outing!!!! Precious people!!! All of them!

Children's Museum

We took Ryland for a special day out while I was in Arizona. His tired dad escorted us to the Children's museum in Phoenix. I would have taken him myself but Ryland wouldn't let Mark or Keri wander too far from him after they spent the 2 days in the hospital. It was OK for Ryland and I to hang out but not without Mom or Dad. The Children's Museum is a child's playground. Lots of things to do. It isn't like our grown up museums where we just look at things. This was completely hands on! Maybe grown ups could learn a thing or two about from this museum. Ryland had a blast and took the whole experience very seriously as you can see! Things to do...Paint!
Go grocery shopping. Gotta learn how to use that scale! The potatoes were a hit!
But the number one favorite???? Bananas!
Shopping done? Well, I guess it is time to pay for all these groceries at the check out!

All that shopping works up an appetite. How about cooking a pizza? Yum!

Time for dessert! Lots of different flavors of ice cream. It is fun to serve it up to the other kids for sure.

Nice to be served too!
The very best is to make a friend that will hang out with you while you have your ice cream!
There were lots of gadgets to play with!

And sometimes it is fun just to watch!

Easton Pics!

I am finally getting all the pictures off my camera. I had some nice pics of Easton and family that I wanted to add to the blog. A big yawn for a tiny little person. I was just in heaven when this picture was taken. I call these MOMENTS! In a moment time sort of stands still and you just want the moment to last so you can soak it all in and remember it forever. Nothing else really matters but the moment! This was a MOMENT!
Ryland started checking Easton out. His feet, toes, eyes, etc. He even did some belly button comparing!

Of course when you are two years old you have to see how you look in your little brothers clothing. This was a bit small but still Ryland looks darn good!I think I have all the hospital pictures posted! I was so happy to share in this whole experience!
