Irish Man of the Year 2011

It was Mike's day. The Saint Patrick's Day parade and he was the Irish Man of the Year. He was voted into this wonderful honor by the Sons of Saint Patrick. We had a blast. I enjoyed watching Mike having so much fun! We started the day with the costume! I got to spray the hair! Gorgeous!Once Mike was all dressed up we headed for an early morning rendezvous with all the dignitaries in the parade. Coffee, tea, Irish coffee!
The grand marshall of the parade was Patty Duke. If you are old enough you will know who she is. Wonderful and friendly lady. She is with Tim here in this picture. Tim kept things rolling.
Patty Duke just got her Irish sash! Look closely at her dog to the right of the picture. Huge!
Irish Man of the Year got a sash too.
I had to go out and buy some green clothes. Didn't have any!
This was our ride to the parade! All the dignitaries rode in this!
There he is in all his glory!
Inside the limo! It has been a long time since I have been in a limo!

This is Eastern Washington University's trophy for being National Champs in football. The Irishman of the right is one of the coaches.
Nice glasses.
The highlight of Mike's day! Getting to pass out candy to the kids along the parade route. He is getting his stash here.
WOW!
Mike even got online to listen to Irish accents and he practiced and practiced. He did pretty good!
Candy in his bag ready to go even if we did still have 45 minutes before the parade started. He was happy because he had the candy!
The line up of dignitary cars.
This wasn't one of them. The man on the right Mr. Cannon nominated Mike for Irish Man of the Year!
Others that were in the parade!

So sweet! I was so excited I saw this gang! Love them!
Mike grabbed everyone around him for pictures. I could tell he was excited.

Even a gorilla!

Former students! So grown up!
Off he goes! He never rode in the car. I did! He walked!
Passing out the goods!

Lots of green in the crowd!

People kept asking me where Mike was because he was never by the car. I had to point to him. There he is! Passing out candy.
The parade was over and we were hungry. We ate lunch and then met some of Mike's work friends at Jack and Dan's!
What a great day. So fun to watch Mike enjoy the day! You can tell by his smile he had a great day!

Another Day on the Slopes!

Startin' the day with a few stretches to get the body warmed up and ready to go.The best part of the day is snuggling with those two little girls. Lucy at 23 months hit the ski slopes! She loves it!
Hey, hey the gangs all here! What a blessing to be able to share in the skiing adventure with the family. Wished they all lived close!

Layne is under all of that gear. She was ready to go!
AHHHHH! Precious picture!
The day started out foggy but the sun broke through later in the morning. The snow was soft and wonderful.
Kristin taking movies!
Layne and I! Fun, fun, fun!
This is a pretty steep hill. Especially for a 5 year old. She did great! Layne is on the left, Kristin the center and Mike on the right!

Oh no! A little crash. She was right up and going again.
Mom to the rescue. Mike decided to try some powder in the trees. His first real attempt at skiing in the powder. He has disappeared into the trees.
If you look carefully along the tree line you can see Mike in his red jacket. His first powder attempt resulted in a crash. He was just recovering here. By the end of the day Mike was sailing through the powder.
Layne!
Here we go. Justin and Lucy. She looks so tiny. She loves this skiing.

Lunch time!!!
Somehow I don't think things are going very good for Layne here.
Things improved though.
Lucy is all geared up and ready to go. Kristin took her up to the top of the mountain!

The Lathops. Layne where are you?
Kristin and Lucy are ahead of us and going all the way to the tip top of the mountain.
Getting ready to head down. No fear at all.
I see Layne in this picture. Do you?
Lucy in this one!

Swooosh!

Kristin and Layne are among the crowd on the hill.
Here comes Lucy again.
This is Justin getting a free moment to ski in some powder on the side of the run!
There he goes!
Layne is doing so good!
Lucy and Kristin aiming for the camera!
Mike and Layne decided a little rest would be nice!

Beautiful!

I tried a different pose this time! Not sure it is much better!

The lodge!
We are done for the day. What fun it is to be together like this!

Layne and Lucy decided I needed to eat french fries. Not normal for me but how could the gma say no! They were yummy!

French fries, ketchup, and mustard everywhere. Loved every minute of it!
Mike and Justin are solving the problems of the world. Call them if you want to hear the solutions they came up with! :-)
AHHH!
We saw a few deer on the drive home. Well, I really think it was more than a few. They were everywhere!

Hello Mrs. Deer!
Another fun family day. I thank God for the time I can spend with the family!!!!
