Easton Shea Doolittle Day Two

After a good night sleep Ryland and I headed back to the hospital. Ryland talked a lot about Baby Easton on the way to the hospital and Mom and Dad too of course. He was excited to see them all. When the hospital was in view Ryland got really excited. He knew that he would see his family in a few minutes. Today Ryland was more curious about his little brother. He kissed him, tickled him, and loved him. He even got to help feed Easton.
After some visiting and loving Baby Easton Mark got everyone some lunch. He found a pretty special treat for Ryland. The deal was if Ryland ate a good lunch he could have his treat! A Cardinals cookie in honor of the future Super Bowl winners! Yum. Looks good doesn't it!I got some great pictures of Ryland and Easton with grandma. Also, some pics of Easton's dark hair which is a big deal for the Fuller side of the family but the pictures are stored on the internal memory of the camera. Whoops! I have no chord to take them off. I will do that at home and tomorrow is another day. There will be more pictures for sure.
I am pretty sure that this is the sweetest sound ever. Of course in a few weeks Mark and Keri might not agree but there is just something about a newborn's tender little cry! Click to hear Easton!

Easton Shea Doolittle

Keri and Mark quietly left the house about 4:30 to arrive in plenty of time to be at the hospital by 5:30. I thought I would wake up and send them off but I didn't even hear them. I did give Keri a kiss and hug the night before just in case I slept and didn't hear them leave. I woke up around 5:30 and got ready to head out to the hospital. Ryland was still sleeping. Wake up Ryland!!! About 7:33, OK at exactly 7:33 I got a text from Mark saying that Keri was going into the operating room. Ryland and I were getting ready to go. It takes longer than I remember getting a 2 year old moving! 8:01 the announcement came. Easton Shea Doolittle had arrived! Healthy baby boy! 7 lbs and 1 oz and almost 20 inches long! Dark hair too! Mom and baby are doing fine! When we first arrived at the hospital there were a lot of people in the room. Ryland wasn't quite sure what was going on! He was a bit hesitant to touch his little brother. Once some of the people left he warmed up to this new little person! After some time in the recovery room Keri and troops were moved to her regular room. As we left Ryland got to push a button that played a lullaby all throughout the wing. It tells everyone that a new baby has arrived in the world. What a miracle!Ryland decided he needed a snack. This big brother business is a lot of work!
Thank you God for another beautiful healthy baby in the family! We will all pray for the Doolittle family and take good care of Easton and love him like crazy!

Seems like just yesterday I was trudging up the ski hill with Keri, Kristin, and Katie. Time goes too fast! Brings happy tears!Kristin, Jackson (Layne's cousin) and Layne! Resting with Dad! Just a little difference in the length of the skis!

Sunday and Monday in California

The debate on Sunday in my mind was why would I want to sit inside and watch Kurt Warner when there was sun to be enjoyed!!! That debate didn't last long though. As soon as I saw the pre-game activities on the TV in the hotel I was in! After all the game wouldn't take up the whole day! There was a little bar close to Kyle and Kath's house that had a million TVs in it. It was so much fun watching the game with all the people. Needless to say I was a happy girl! Kurt is going to the Super Bowl again! Here it is, the Flat Iron Bar!Had to get a couple more pictures of Finn before we headed home on Monday! Could he be any cuter?Kyle had to work on Monday. We wanted to see what he was doing so we stopped by his job. Wow! Check out this view from his job sight! We also wanted to see where Kyle surfed. At first Kyle was just going to tell us how to get there but after some consideration he decided to do a bit of surfing! He got in his car and we followed him to Ocean Beach!
I am pretty sure I could have basked in the sunshine in this prone position for the rest of my life!!! :-)We said goodbye to Kyle at Ocean Beach. He jumped in the water and we jumped in the car and started exploring. Ocean Beach is in San Fransisco so we thought we would try and find the city. We did. Here are some of the sights! The buffalo are in Golden Gate Park!Only in California! A smog check station!
I can't even remember the last time I was in the city area of San Fransisco. Some of the streets are so very steep! It was scary going up or down them because it was hard to see out the front window! After touring the city we decided to get something to eat. We found a quaint Mexican Restaurant. Mike and I both wondered why it was decorated with skeletons. After Mike ate he was wandering around the place. He read a review that was on the wall and it explained the skeletons. In English the name of the establishment means Crazy Skeleton. I think this skeleton was the craziest of all. Too much tequila!

The trip home was fast. We got in about 25 minutes before we were scheduled. It was a great weekend! Thanks Kath and Kyle and Finn!

Snow to Sun

One weekend spent enjoying the beautiful winter weather and the next in the sunshine in California with family! Life is Good. We took off Friday evening to see Kyle, Kath, and Finn! What a treat! Our hotel was really nice and inexpensive which was a great bonus. Nice pool, outdoor fireplace, palm trees, oh I love the palm trees, and it was warm enough to wear sandals!! Whew! I should have gotten a pedicure before I left!We got in late Friday night and went straight to Kyle and Kath's place. Finn was already asleep so we didn't get to see him. The next day was different. Kath and Finn took us on a scenic drive that wound through the hills near their home! Beautiful scenery including horses, creeks, and redwood trees!
We stopped at Stinson Beach and ate at the Parkside Cafe. Yummy food. Parkside is a small outdoor cafe complete with umbrellas! Some might think umbrellas are for shade but Finn had a different idea. Climbing and tasting! That is what they are for!

Of course when you go to the beach you have to put your feet in the sand and surf. I cannot even tell you how enjoyable that was for me. Even though I have lived in Washington longer than I lived in California when I am at the beach it still feels like home! I love it! I took a picture of my footprints in the sand! Just wanted to try and remember how good it feels to walk along the beach! The surfers weren't the only ones enjoying the water! Who said dogs can't surf!
Ahh and then of course there is the sand! Adorable, handsome, Finn loved the sand in more ways than one. Yum?

The day ended with a great dinner cooked by Kyle and Kath! Couldn't have been a better day. Thanks Kath for giving us the tour and spending the day with us!
